MELC straightening & cutting machines, are using our own invented Rotor -with hyperbolic rollers- straightening principle, adopted today by the majority of rebar processing machinery manufacturers. Already in the 5^th generation our Rotor straightening method is ahead of the competition, with advantages that cannot be offered by any other machine of this type.

Depending on the core business of the customer (trader/reseller, rebar shop, precaster, mesh producer), the required output and the preferred method of material handling, there are different types of MELC straightening and cutting machines available, using Eurobend’s latest development—the forth generation straightening ROTOR (5G):

 

MELC Monoline Series:

The MELC MONOLINE SERIES, are single-line straightening and cutting machines that can achieve speeds of 120^m/min (depending on the machine version).

The speed is adjusted by frequency inverter controls, thus the machine adapts the output to the required productivity needs, where at the same time parts life cycle is maximized and downtime is minimized. Special-application modules are available for wire twist control (patented), making the MELC Monoline Series ideal also for high-tensile and stainless steel wire/rebar straightening.

 

MELC Flexiline Series:

The only multi-line straightening & cutting machine that offers extremely fast diameters changeovers (NO HUMAN INTERVENTION REQUIRED) processing coiled rebar up to 25mm.

 

This line represents a breakthrough solution for prefabricators. MELC Flexiline Series are multi-rotor, single-line automatic rebar straightening and cutting machines, processing up to six automatically interchangeable coils, of up to 25mm, offering automatic rebar loading and extraction. All MELC Flexiline machines are equipped with the unique Eurobend convergence guide system (patented)  for automatic rebar diameter/coil changes in two seconds without mechanical moving parts. The extremely fast and automatic coil changes enable the production of different rebar diameters in the same batch without complicated collection systems. A flying shear cutter, common to all lines, allows uninterrupted operation and minimizes material stresses.

 

 MELC Polyline Series:

THE ONLY FULLY AUTOMATIC MULTI-LINE ROTOR STRAIGHTENING MACHINE WITH HYPERBOLIC ROLLERS THAT CAN PROCESS UP TO 25mm COILED MATERIAL: NO HUMAN INTERVENTION REQUIRED

 

These are high-output machines for large-scale trading companies and mesh producers. Each rotor (line) works independently from the others, thus each line can operate with the same or different diameter and cut the same or different length. Any size of straightening rotors processing UP TO 25mm material can be combined to form a multi-line machine, offering automatic rebar loading and extraction. Flying shear cutting units cut the straightened pieces while in motion, thus allowing uninterrupted operation, minimum material stresses and assurance of no marking on the wire/rebar surface. Each line has an independent collection system and leads the produced pieces to a common collector for all the lines for bundling without interrupting machine operation.

Feeding the beginning of each coil of large rebar diameter to every machine is a labor intensive and time consuming process. To automate this process and eliminate the human intervention on all the above machine versions when feeding an new coil from the pay off station to the machine, an automatic robotic coil feeding unit is available, that can feeds any coil of any rebar diameter effortlessly and accurately to any MELC MONOLINE, FLEIXLINE & MULTILINE machine version

 

All the above MELC machine versions, offer a number of unique advantages, which among others include:

Machine downtime is minimized as continuous straightening mechanism adjustments are not needed. 

Straightening of high tensile steel (up to 1800^N/mm² UTS) has been achieved without the implementation of additional apparatus.

Mechanical simplicity of machine construction due to simultaneous feeding and straightening results in a machine with stable, constant, efficient and reliable operation.

Cutting of the required length is achieved through a flying shear cutter, while the wire/rebar is fed, without having to start and stop or to slow down the feeding speed.

The simplicity of the design allows construction of multi-line machines depending on the productivity requirements and the diameter ranges to be processed. Each line works independent from the others and any combination or all of them can work together. In addition, each line has a dedicated collecting bin and can cut the same or different lengths.

The different rotor sizes that are available, cover diameter ranges up to 50mm, of regular wire, deformed, recessed, or rebar, of any grade (high tensile, stainless steel)
