The British Aggregates Association (BAA) is the trade body representing the UK’s independent quarrying and aggregates sector.

We work on behalf of our members to promote high standards across health and safety, environmental management, compliance and sustainability, while providing a strong and credible voice to Government, regulators and stakeholders. Through technical support, policy engagement and practical guidance, the BAA helps members navigate regulatory change and operate responsibly in a rapidly evolving industry.

A key part of our work is championing the role of aggregates, soils, stones and recycled materials in supporting construction, infrastructure and the circular economy. We also actively encourage continuous improvement through initiatives such as the Assessment of Operating Standards (AOS) Scheme and industry-led health and safety guidance.
