Shuttered concrete texture

Material Evolution

Stand: B32

Material Evolution (Mevo) is enabling the concrete industry to decarbonise at scale - without compromising performance, cost, or constructability.

Our flagship product, MevoCem, is an ultra-low carbon cement made from industrial byproducts, delivering up to 85% lower CO₂ emissions than traditional Portland cement. Produced using our patented, heat-free alkali fusion process, MevoCem avoids energy-intensive kilns while meeting the performance demands of real-world concrete applications.

Designed for industrial adoption, MevoCem is already being manufactured at scale in the UK. It provides a practical, drop-in pathway for producers and contractors looking to reduce embodied carbon today - using familiar production routes and mix designs.

We also offer MevoXL, which enables rapid early strength in concretes with up to 95% SCM replacement, unlocking reliable performance, cost-neutral and low-carbon concrete at industrial scale. This makes high-SCM mixes commercially viable across precast and ready-mix applications - while remaining compliant.

Led by co-founders Dr Liz Gilligan and Sam Clark, Material Evolution has a clear mission: remove one gigaton of CO₂ by 2040. Our R&D Hub in Teesside and A1 Production Facility in Wrexham, Wales are already proving that ultra-low carbon cement can be delivered—at scale, on spec, and on site.
