Steve has more than 40 years’ experience across precast and ready-mixed concrete, with a career focused primarily on technical and quality leadership roles within the industry.

He has designed concrete mixes for a wide range of complex applications, including bridges, tunnels, railways, hospitals, warehouses, superstores, civil infrastructure, the water industry, airports, and domestic construction. His expertise spans advanced concretes such as self-compacting steel fibre concrete, high-strength concretes up to 120 MPa, pavement-quality concrete, as well as lightweight and heavyweight concretes.

Steve has authored Quality Manuals, procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with BS EN ISO 9001, BS EN 206, BS 8500, and customer-specific requirements. He has also advised on amendments to British Standards and Assessment Body Regulations. A trained Lead Auditor, he has extensive experience conducting internal audits to BS EN ISO 9001.

He is currently Technical Director of the Concrete Society.
