Join us at The UK Concrete Show 2025 as we launch our Emerging Talent Awards to acknowledge the top five individuals who have made a positive contribution to the industry.
The Awards are about recognising and rewarding the achievement and efforts of those in the early stage of their career in the sector – as well as shining the spotlight on the organisations that are helping develop and foster the future of the industry.
The chosen winners will be presented with their award as part of the afternoon session at the Concrete Connect Seminar Theatre on Thursday 27th February. The session opens with a panel of leading industry figures discussing the future of the industry and how best to nurture talent, and encourage young people into the sector, followed by the presentation of the Emerging Talent Awards.
All five winners will receive a £500 John Lewis voucher and will be featured on ConcreteConnect.co.uk

What makes them special?
Maybe your Emerging Talent has excelled in training, having completed a recognised qualification with distinction, or thrived in their apprenticeship?
Alternatively, they may have made a direct and measurable impact on the success of your business? For example: improved productivity; introduced new sustainable working practices; driven digitalisation; won important new business; implemented new technology; or championed a safer working environment?
Whatever the reason, each nominee will have clearly demonstrated the ambition and attitude required to progress their career.

By nominating someone for the awards, not only will you help to acknowledge the current achievements of young people in the concrete sector, but you’ll be helping to encourage and inspire the next generation of industry leaders too.
The awards are open to those aged 30 and under, working for firms operating across the UK concrete industry within the following primary business activities and job roles, including, but not limited to: additive specialists; assemblers; batchers; buyers/procurement managers; civil engineers; concrete finishers; concrete polishing contractors; concrete repair contractors; consultancy/project managers; designers & architects; developers; diamond drilling contractors; engineers; falsework & formwork contractors; floor screeding; groundworks contractors; industrial floor installers; installers; machine operators; mechanics; pre-cast fabricators; pump hire; ready-mix producers; sales & marketing professionals; specifiers; surface preparation; technicians; technologists; testing; volumetric truck & mixer operators; and many others…
Nominating someone is quick and easy
Simply complete some basic details about the individual you’re nominating, along with a headshot and short 250-word supporting statement. Once nominations have been received a shortlist will then be selected from which a panel of judges will decide the winners.
The judges will take into account:
- the nominee’s achievements in the workplace or role
- the challenges faced and overcome
- their attitude and commitment to self-improvement
- the overall quality of submissions
All nominations must be submitted by Friday 10th January 2025, with winners being notified by 24th January 2025. There is no limit on the number of nominations per company.
